Press release: NNZ announces leadership transition
Groningen, July 1st 2025
It is time for a Change. After 35 unforgettable years at NNZ, I want to share with you that I have decided to retire as of July 1st, 2025. This decision didn’t come overnight – it’s one I’ve made with both my heart and head, guided by personal motivations and the best interests of our company.
It has been the journey of a lifetime. I’ve had the privilege, together with all my colleagues, to help build, shape, and grow NNZ into the international, values-driven company it is today. From a family business with deep roots to a global organization, our story has always been about people, partnerships, and purposeful progress.
I want to sincerely thank all my colleagues, suppliers, and customers for the trust, collaboration, and support you’ve given me over these past 35 years. It has meant the world to me, and it’s what made this journey so rewarding and special.
Luckily, this is not a goodbye.
In line with our Boot family statute, I will take on a new role as family representative in the Supervisory Board, where I will continue to support NNZ from a different perspective – focused on long-term continuity and staying close to what matters most: our people, our values, and our future. Until my successor is fully on board, I will remain active and engaged (till the 31st of August) – as always, with Passion, Pleasure, and my Personal touch.
Now, it is my great pleasure to introduce you to my successor: Ronald Hoozemans, who will become the new CEO of NNZ. Ronald brings with him a wealth of international experience, a strong sense of purpose, and a leadership style that fits naturally with NNZ’s values. What impressed me most is how well he understands what it means to lead a company that’s both commercially strong and built on family foundations.
“NNZ is not just a strong international company – it’s a business with a heart, built by a family. That’s what drew me in,” Ronald told me. “For over 100 years, NNZ has kept evolving while staying true to its roots. I believe lasting impact comes when people work together with trust, commitment, and a shared sense of purpose.”
Before joining NNZ, Ronald led the Benelux and Germany region at Bunzl, working closely with many former family businesses. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at SIG, Mediq, Nutricia, and Organon, with a consistent focus on innovation, customer value, and sustainability. He studied European Studies in Amsterdam and completed executive programs in leadership and digital transformation. Ronald is a strong believer in continuous development – not only in business, but in people and teams as well.
“My mission is to help people, teams, and organizations reach their full potential,” he says. “I look forward to listening, learning, and shaping the future of NNZ together—with energy, clarity, and a deep respect for its culture and legacy.”
I feel proud and reassured to hand over the baton to someone who understands the essence of NNZ and has the energy and expertise to lead us into a new Era.
To all of you – colleagues, partners, customers, and friends – thank you for walking this path with me. It has been an honor to lead NNZ for so many years. I look forward to continuing our journey in a new role, while Ronald leads us forward with fresh perspective and shared purpose.
Warm regards,
Len Boot
